We all make decisions in life. Some turn out well, some turn out badly. Some we have no control over, some are down to us and us alone. Some we look back with pride and some we look back with regret. Some have little effect, some have lasting consequences.
It is a major way of learning but lack of knowledge, impatience, giving into feelings, circumstances, bad advice of so-called friends, upbringing, lack of conscience, lack of self-esteem, lack of discipline all conspire so that we end up in circumstances which we would not have deliberately chosen.
We need to understand how to make decisions. What we lack is an old fashioned word – wisdom.

Regrets (released July 2020)
Bronnie Ware, a nurse who counselled the dying in their last days, revealed the most common regrets we have at the end of our lives. Bronnie writes of the phenomenal clarity of vision that people gain at the end of their lives, and how we might learn from their wisdom. "When questioned about any regrets they had or anything they would do differently," she says, "common themes surfaced again and again”. The top 5 were:
1. I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
2. I wish I hadn't worked so hard.
3. I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.
4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.

Nails (Released October 2020)
A father gave his bad-tempered son a bag of nails and a hammer and asked him to hammer a nail into the back of the fence every time he lost his temper. Over the next few weeks he drove nails into the fence, often several times in a day. On each day when he did not lose his temper, his father asked him to pull out one nail.
Eventually the young boy was finally able to remove all the nails from the fence. He was excited to share this achievement with his father. As expected, the father was pleased and led the boy to the fence and pointed out the holes in the fence. They will remain there forever. Similarly, when you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like these.
